We were influenced by Clark Howard, Crown Ministries, and Compass Ministries, and to some degree, Dave Ramsey. We have personally taught the bible studies from Crown Ministries and Compass’s materials at our churches before. The reality is that while we want to embrace timeless truths about human behavior, integrity, and money, the rapidly changing markets and opportunities mean that techniques from the 1990s and early 2000s may not work anymore.
Are CD’s paying 5%? Do car loans go for 12%? Is every group seeking financial advice a young married couple in their low 20s? How many young 20-somethings even get married? The majority of households today are not nuclear families. While we may lament these facts (we do), that doesn’t change the need for better-suited guidance.
We have some unique strategies and ideas to share from 2022 onward. We are not a blog about FIRE, but if you follow our principles you may find yourself with more retirement savings than you expected. How much of an emergency fund is necessary? What about the low-interest rates for savings?
How much is an appropriate down payment on a home?
Are credit cards evil? Is debt sinful?
How about buying or selling stocks with apps such as RobinHood?
Join us as we explore these ideas and more. Our goal is to give solid advice that we know works. We will encourage entrepreneurship and growing your career.
Though we are Christians, this is not explicitly a Christian site. This is also not a site to promote health and wealth theology. Please feel free to comment with suggestions and criticism.
